Style of Teaching: My classes always begin with setting your own intention. This is help you find your purpose for moving and to help keep you strong and inspired as you go through class.
Favorite Music Style: I love using the newest and weirdest electronic music in my classes. While electronic music takes up about 75% of my playlist, I also will use newer pop, rap, and sometimes a throwback jam.
Favorite Hobby: I love to knit! I'm big into crafting and I love the winter months, so why not knit! It is a good way to challenge the mind, learn patience, and get a new scarf.
Favorite Travel Destination: NYC all the way. All through college, I traveled to New York to train with different dance schools and I absolutely love the city.

Favorite Workout Aside From What I Teach: Any opportunity I get, I am dancing.  It is an amazing blend of art and athleticism and it is a huge part of my background.

Style of Teaching: I try to teach to all levels of Barre clients - giving lots of modifications and options to encourage beginners, but still challenge more experienced Barre Babes :)  I also give a lot of form cues, so that clients get the absolute most out of each class.

Favorite Hobby: hanging out with my family, cooking, walking dogs (I have a pet sitting and dog walking business) and working out

Favorite Music Style: Electric! I'll play a fast jog to Justin Bieber, followed by a power climb to Muse, and slow it all down with a raggae cool down.  Anything that has a great beat.  I'm such a believer in the power of music - it can absolutely influence our mood and emotions.
Favorite Hobby: Spending time with my hot hubby and out two daughters.  Nutrition and health coaching is my main passion and what I do as a full time career.
Favorite Travel Destination: Being near the sea slows down my pace and makes me happy. Mexico is a favorite spot.  But Greers Ferry Lake is where I "summer".  Basically I love the water.

Jack is a former ER and Flight Nurse and has been practicing the Barkan Method for 2 1/2 years. Before that he was an avid weightlifter and competitive bodybuilder. There was a time during his bodybuilding pursuit that he was so musclebound he couldn't even reach to turn the collars down on his own shirt. Touching his toes was unthinkable, and he weighed as much as 270 lbs. Jack's discovery of hot yoga was quite by accident. A friend needed a private lesson partner and Jack wasn't doing anything, so he thought "why not?" After that one class he was hooked. The intensity, heat and concentration required were everything he didn't know he wanted. It changed a 20-year-old exercise habit in an instant. "I needed to be still and to concentrate on something other than my life. I had never been able to sit still without my mind racing. It's still difficult, but I have the tools now. The mat is my escape, my chance to meet like-minded people-incredible people. I've found some wonderful friends in such a short time." Jack hopes to bring power and heat to his classes. He can now turn his collars down on his shirts and touch his toes with ease. His young daughter, however, has a better tree pose.
